Origami

guys... at school my friend gave me a ORIGAMI,,! it's so cute cause it looks like a woman wearing kimono..!! big thanks to my friend "Ai Hiranuma",, ^__^ i really love it.
so guys,, now i want to tell you about the ORIGAMI,,!

What is origami?

Origami, the Japanese name for the art of paper folding, comes from the Japanese verb oru (to fold) and the noun kami (paper). The word "origami" is now commonly used around the world. A finished origami figure is called a model, the method for folding a model is called a design, and drawn instructions for a model is called a set of diagrams. An origami artist is usually called a paperfolder.
The only requirement for origami is a piece of paper, making it one of the most accessible arts. Almost any paper may be used, but standard "origami paper" is thin, strong, and holds a crease very well. It is also usually white on one side and colored on the other side, and is cut into 15 cm squares (about 6 inches). Some origami artists also experiment with other materials, and have folded models out of cardboard, various types of cloth, wire mesh, sheet metal, and even sheets of pasta.
The basic technique of origami is folding, and many complex folds have been developed. The simplest fold is the valley fold, where a flat piece of paper is folded towards the paperfolder. When this fold is unfolded, the crease line forms a valley shape. Closely related is the mountain fold, where the paper is folded away from the paperfolder. This crease line forms an upraised ridge, or a mountain shape. Since these folds differ only in direction, mountain folds are usually made by turning the paper over, folding a valley fold in the indicated position, and then turning the paper over again. Certain combinations of basic folds form bases, starting shapes that may be used to fold many different models. The four most common bases, from simplest to the more complex, are the kite base, the fish base, the bird base, and the frog base.
The names of the bases reveal that many paperfolders enjoy folding models of animals (including all living creatures). Besides the many animal models, there are models of almost all physical objects including people, faces, plants, vehicles and buildings. Some paperfolders fold abstract or mathematical shapes, and others specialize in modular origami, where many copies of a simple folded shape are assembled to form large elaborate structures.
Paperfolders are a diverse group of people ranging from artists to scientists to therapists. Artists and craftspeople use origami as a way to express themselves creatively. Scientists, architects, and mathematicians explore the geometry of origami for its own beauty and for practical applications. Therapists and teachers use origami as a tool to help their patients recover from illness or to help their students learn. Many people fold paper simply because it is fun.

Cherry Blossom Festivals (Hanami)

i want to tell you about one special thing in JAPAN ! that is Hanami FESTIVALS...!!

Hanami is an important Japanese custom and is held all over Japan in spring. Hanami literally means viewing flowers, but it generally indicates cherry blossom viewing. It's said that the origin of hanami dates back to more than one thousand years ago when aristocrats enjoyed looking at beautiful cherry blossoms and wrote poems. Nowadays, people in Japan have fun viewing cherry blossoms, drinking and eating. It is like a picnic under the trees. People bring home-cooked meals, do BBQ, or buy take-out food for hanami. In popular hanami spots, there are even competitions for the best spots. If you do not like a crowd, you can go to neighborhood parks/gardens or other quiet places. The most popular kind of Japanese cherry (sakura) tree which can be found everywhere in Japan is somei-yoshino (Yedoensis). Sakura trees bloom at different times throughout Japan, and the blooming period of somei-yoshino is usually short.
Cherry blossom festivals take place all over the country. Most of them are held between March to May, though other regions have them in January, February, and June, based on their location. Festival dates are usually determined with reference to cherry blossom forecasts and vary from year to year.
Gorgeous flowers are main attractions of the festivals, but a variety of traditional Japanese performing arts presented in many festivals can't be missed. Joining tea ceremonies held under cherry trees can be a memorable experience as well. It's fun to stop by festival vendors which sell various food and souveniors, including regional crafts and speciality food in the region. It's notable that many cherry blossom festivals hold light-up events in the evening.

why i love butterfly

Do you love butterflies? Enjoy this beautiful inspirational story with me...

'No matter what, I love butterflies. I love to see them in my garden in the summer, I love watching them go about their daily business without a care in the world. But why do we love butterflies so much?

Butterflies are something unique of a creature in the insect world. They start out as one thing (a caterpillar) and become a butterfly. They start their lives as caterpillars eating everything as much as they can till they get big enough to start a cocoon. They spin this web of silk to hide in and as they are hiding in their cocoon they change into a butterfly. When they are ready, they then fight their way out of that cocoon to what we see flying about on wings of pure beauty.

Did you know that if you were to do what you think is the a kind thing and help a butterfly out of its cocoon that it won't be able to fly? Its the fighting it does to get out of its cocoon that strengthens its wings so it can take to the air.

Now think about that in your own life as a example. We all started somewhere - good or bad, we started our lives somewhere in the world. As children we eat as much as we could till we grew up large enough to leave home. Our families and the world around us put's us into a cocoon. We fought out of our cocoon that are families put us in to grow up and become the persons we are today. We have all met people who have stopped growing, stopped because of failures. These are the people who gave up on their wings.

Some of us didn't fight our way out of our cocoons till later in life but we did. Now we are a person of great beauty and strength on our own wings of beauty. When you fight for what you want in the world, and don't expect it handed to you, you are really getting your own wings ready for flight.

Life will always be what you put into and take out of it. Now is the time to sit back and think to yourselves, am I a butterfly or am I still stuck in my cocoon? Or is there someone I know who needs a little help to open up their wings and take flight? Unlike butterflies we all need a little help getting out of our self imposed cocoons. If we all reach out and give our fellow ladies a helping hand the air will be filled with the most amazing butterflies of all. Freedom is a beautiful thing on the set of wings, real or not.

Me? I'm going to plant a garden of flowers so I may be able to sit back and watch the most little simple creature in the world, the butterfly.

The next time you see a butterfly and take great delight at its beauty. Because no matter what, like that simple butterfly you are either still a caterpillar, in your cocoon, or using your own set of wings. Where would you rather be if your life was based on a butterflies life cycle?'
